Although some managed care plans prefer that their participating doctors submit their oral biopsy specimens to a national general pathology laboratory, you can send all of these specimens to our Suffolk County-based laboratory. Your practice and your patients benefit when oral biopsies are submitted to a local laboratory for evaluation by a Diplomate of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Pathology. Using the information below, you will be able to use our oral pathology biopsy service with minimal disruption to your practice.

Although we are not yet participating providers with AETNA-US HEALTHCARE, these types of managed care plans will pay for our service if (1) the patient has come to your office with a proper referral, and (2) if you are a participating provider in the plan in question. For these patients, please indicate on the biopsy request form the type of insurance with the patient's ID number and attach a copy of the patient's referral slip.
